I had the privilege of being selected to participate in Teach for America’s Ignite Fellowship, an eight-week program where I served as an Online Tutor for third-grade students based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Four days a week, I organized daily lesson plans that aimed to positively motivate the students, while adapting to different learning styles in group settings and a digital environment. I believe I learned just as much from the children, as I hope they learned from me.
